And the winners are … Student art selected for the 2009 cooperative calendar
Here are the winners of the Student Art Contest held in March 2008. These works will appear in the Cooperative Calendar of Student Art 2009, which will be published in October 2008 by Electric Consumer and participating Indiana electric cooperatives.

Along with the 13 first place winners, nine honorable mention winners were selected at large from works that vied for first place in their respective grade divisions. The works of these nine students will appear in a special section in the back of the 2009 cooperative calendar:

Heather Davenport, 9th grade, Roann, Ind. Veronica Leman, 8th grade, Francesville, Ind. Leah Running, 5th grade, Warsaw, Ind. Omri Raizman, 3rd grade, West Lafayette, Ind. Jeromy Golden, 2nd grade, Indianapolis, Ind. Natalie Cassady, kindergarten, South Milford, Ind.
First
place winners in grades k-8 receive $150; grades 9-12 receive $200. The
artist of the year, Kenny Martin, receives an additional $100. Winning works will
represent the month listed in the 2009 Cooperative Calendar of Student Art, available in October 2008 at participating REMCs and RECs around Indiana.
Honorable
mention winners receive $50 and will have their work published in a
special 4-page section in the back of the calendar.
Some 400 “Award of Merit” certificates will also be presented to students whose work made the final cut in judging.
