April 2011 PowerKids
Gone today, Hare tomorrow!

Who hasn’t been the victim of the mysterious missing sock syndrome on laundry day? Both of your socks might make it into the hamper, but only one leaves the dryer. Who knows what happened to the other one?
Well, those socks with no partners can take center stage in this cute Easter craft.
To make Bunny Beanbags, you’ll need:
• A spoon or funnel
• Dried lentils
• A child’s sock
• A rubber band
• Brightly colored ribbon
• Scissors
• Googly eyes
• Brown and white felt or craft foam
• White pom-pom or cotton ball
• Tacky glue
Instructions:
Use the spoon or funnel to add the lentils to the sock. Fill up the sock to just past the heel. Tightly loop the rubber band around the sock just above where it is filled.
To create the bunny’s head, tie the ribbon around the sock just below the heel. Use scissors to cut the sock’s cuff into two rabbit “ears.” Round the edges of the “ears” to create a realistic shape. Glue on googly eyes to the bunny’s “head.” Cut a circle from brown craft foam or felt for the nose and teeth from the white felt or craft foam (or you can cut the teeth from thin white ribbon...that’s what we did). Glue them to the bunny’s face. Glue the pom-pom or cotton ball in place as the bunny’s tail.
